Deer Hunt | Deer Butchery

Full Episode – We go deer hunting this week with Keith Warnke! Then are shown how to butcher at MATC with Jack Kaestner.

It’s deer season this week on Wisconsin Foodie! Keith Warnke from the Department of Natural Resources guides us as well as Kyle through the Wisconsin tradition of hunting. We go to the McMiller Sports Center to learn how to handle and discharge a rifle safely and properly. Having gained the necessary skills, we grab our blaze orange and head to the VonRueden’s private property where we can hunt our deer. Kyle and Keith wait in a blind and discuss the current scene of hunting in Wisconsin and how it’s changed over the years. After the hunt, the VonRuedens invite them back for a delicious home cooked venison meal. Later, Chef Instructor Jack Kaestner joins Keith as they show us the proper way to butcher your deer.
